We are looking for a Workers' Compensation Defense - Associate Attorney. Familiarity with other areas of law may be helpful but is not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Analyze facts to determine legal issues and develop strategies to achieve strongly beneficial outcomes regarding those issues without unnecessary expense or delay

· Prepare correspondence, pleadings, petitions, and other writings that are appropriate and tailored to the intended reader

· Communicate verbally, in-person or electronically, with a wide variety of persons in a manner suitable for the situation that takes the listener(s) into consideration

· Conduct effective depositions of applicants (claimants), witnesses, doctors, and others

· Perform discovery

· Advocate for clients at hearings (including trials), arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolutions with professionalism and a high degree of competency

· Work closely with our clients at the claims handling and employer levels to achieve the best results

· Provide effective and timely communications, information, legal advice and other services to clients on legal and factual issues

· Research legal, medical, and factual matters

· Participate in claims file reviews

· Attend continuing legal education seminars on topics in the field of workers' compensation

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified Associate Attorney candidates will possess the following requirements:

· Licensed to practice law in the state of California

· Experience in the workers' compensation field is preferred

· Positive-minded and collaborative team-player attitude

· Strong legal research and writing skills

· Self-directed with excellent organizational and prioritization skills

· Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
